DMC's Biography
DMC aka King DDavid M. Carnahan (aka "DMC" aka "King D") was born in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington on November 4th, 1983 weighing in at 10.5 pounds. As far back as he could remember he knew that he was going to do and be someone and something of significance in this world; he knew that he was different from other people. He has seen many things in his short life: from tragedy to triumph, weakness to strength, right to wrong, and light to darkness.

Taking cue from his experiences David began writing poetry when he was a child and by fifth grade he was published and internationally recognized for his work by the International Society of Poets. David also played the cello for multiple years in which he studied with the principle cellist of The Seattle Symphony Orchestra; won several awards and was accepted into The Seattle Youth Symphony.

After transition, transformation, trials, and tribulations David picked up the art of Hip-Hop. He began to make instrumentals and lyrics in his college dorm room on his computer: positive, negative, and controversial. It was then he realized that this is what God had put him on the earth to do. He had found a way to depict any situation; to evoke any feeling and express himself freely on the microphone. On top of that he had learned to bring his poetic and musical gifts to the table, resulting in what could possibly become something of a phenomenon.

David moved back home from college to start being productive. He figured that he needed to be closer to the city of Seattle for his music career to take off. He has written and produced over a hundred songs and consequently: hundreds of beats. David is a humble individual, yet at the same time he is confident about his abilities and skills to the point of reckless ambition. He is a strong believer in Jesus Christ in who he finds his strength, yet he battles with his faith daily.

Seattle Hip-Hop is an apparition looking for life. Hip-Hop is gasping for air, and David is confident enough to be that wind, and willing to bring it with a Hurricane. At 6 feet tall DMC is a distinctive looking male, but his musical talents are distinctively singular. He has studied Hip-Hop as it is in our culture today and his position in Hip-Hop today is relevant, so much so he is willing to stake his life on it.
